A piece inspired by my experience in a typhoon in Japan. It could be volcanic action as well or the earth erupting in response to the stress we have placed on it. This is a small piece. It is made of a filled cardboard box, painted with acrylic paint. The patterns and top are all kumihimo Japanese braids made on either a marudai or takadai. The braids on the box are of silk; the top is paper and wire.
